Information: UK General Medical Council Registered Specialist in Neurosurgery and Nigerian Medical and Dental Council registered Surgeon. He has extensive surgical repertoire in elective and emergency neurosurgery procedures. Experience was obtained working in different hospitals in the UK. Notably, James Cook University Hospital in Middlesbrough, Newcastle General Hospital, Western General Hospital, Edinburgh and the Walton Centre for Neurology and Neurosurgery in Liverpool. Dr Ogungbo has a higher degree in Neurosurgery and obtained a Distinction in Science from the Open University (UK).

Specialties: He has trained specifically in Neurosurgery sub-specialties such as spinal surgery, tumour surgery and vascular surgery. He is particularly interested in the surgical management of stroke in Nigeria. He is also active in the surgical management of spine and spinal cord injury in the country.

He has a strong clinical research and audit base with a significant number of publications in peer reviewed journals. He is highly interested in stroke and spinal cord injuries and has written extensively about these conditions. He supports medical education and is very active in creating awareness about neuroscience issues in Nigeria. 

Dr Biodun Ogungbo runs the BRAIN AND SPINE SURGERY CONSORTIUM. The hospital is a specialist centre for brain and spine conditions and located in the heart of Abuja. The hospital is geared towards reversing medical tourism to Abuja by delivering quality outcomes for our patients. The hospital treats over 100 surgical cases per year and runs a daily neurosurgical clinic .
